Chhattisgarh is aiming to transform its resource-driven economy into a diversified manufacturing hub, with investment proposals worth nearly ₹8 lakh crore received over the past 18 months. These proposals are expected to generate more than 1.5 lakh employment opportunities across sectors including textiles, pharmaceuticals, electronics, technology, engineering and agro-processing.
Under its Industrial Development Policy 2024–30, the state is focusing on advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, green steel, robotics and other technology-driven industries.
The state is also looking to strengthen its steel sector by shifting towards specialised steel products, advanced alloys and greener production technologies. Meanwhile, proposed investments in pharmaceuticals and electronics are expected to support industrial diversification.
The government aims to promote regional development by encouraging MSMEs, strengthening local supply chains, improving infrastructure and creating skill-development opportunities. The success of this industrial transformation will depend on converting investment proposals into operational projects, sustainable employment and long-term economic growth.
