India’s textile and apparel (T&A) exports recorded a 17.51% year-on-year increase in September, supported by growth in both textile and apparel shipments, according to a report by Fibre2Fashion citing quick estimates from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The growth reflects stronger export performance across key segments of India’s textile industry. Textile shipments and apparel exports both contributed to the overall increase.
Among individual categories, cotton yarn, fabrics, made-ups and handloom products recorded higher exports. Man-made yarn, fabrics and made-ups also reported growth, highlighting demand across different textile product segments.
Carpet exports increased during the month, while handicrafts excluding handmade carpets registered a sharp rise. However, jute manufactures recorded a decline.
The latest figures highlight positive momentum in India’s textile and apparel exports. Continued growth across major product categories could support the industry’s efforts to strengthen its position in international markets.
