Odisha has announced 46 industrial projects worth ₹39,383 crore across 14 districts, with an estimated potential to generate 42,512 jobs. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated projects and laid foundation stones at an event held in Kalinganagar, Jajpur district.
The investments cover several sectors, including steel, metals, chemicals, renewable energy, textiles, electronics, food processing, logistics, healthcare and tourism. The projects aim to strengthen Odisha’s industrial base, attract investment and create new employment opportunities.
Investment Boost Across Odisha
According to the state government, Odisha has grounded 116 projects and inaugurated 35 under Majhi’s leadership. Together, these 151 projects represent investments worth ₹3,11,722.46 crore and an estimated employment potential of 2,40,697 jobs.
The latest announcement follows the Utkarsh Odisha–Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 and subsequent investor roadshows in India and abroad. The government aims to turn investment commitments into operational projects and expand industrial production.
Focus on Implementation and Jobs
The state expects the new investments to support local businesses, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Construction, logistics, supply chains and related services could also benefit as projects move forward.
However, the government has not yet disclosed individual project details, company names or completion timelines. Therefore, successful implementation will be crucial to achieving the expected employment and economic benefits.
Odisha’s industrial expansion forms part of its broader vision of achieving Samruddha Odisha by 2036. The latest projects highlight the state’s efforts to diversify its economy, strengthen manufacturing and create sustainable employment opportunities.
