Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will visit the United States from September 29 to October 5, 2026, to attend the G20 Trade Ministers’ Meeting and hold bilateral discussions with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.

The G20 Trade Ministers’ Meeting will take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on September 30 and October 1. Goyal will participate in the meeting at the invitation of the U.S. Trade Representative.

During his U.S. visit, Goyal is also expected to discuss the ongoing India-U.S. Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) with Greer. According to the Commerce Ministry, the discussions will focus on advancing a balanced and mutually beneficial trade agreement.

The ministry said both sides will work towards finalising an interim trade deal in line with the India-U.S. Joint Statement issued on February 7, 2026.

The visit comes as India and the United States continue negotiations on trade and market access issues. The G20 meeting will also provide an opportunity for participating economies to discuss broader global trade matters.
