Türkiye’s apparel exports remained under pressure during the first nine months of the year, declining by 2.2% year-on-year amid continued weakness in international demand and an uneven recovery in global shipments.
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) and the Ministry of Trade, exports of knitted and crocheted garments (HS 61) recorded a decline, while woven apparel and clothing accessories (HS 62) experienced a steeper contraction during January–September.
The downward trend continued in September, with both knitted and woven apparel exports registering year-on-year decreases. The performance highlights ongoing challenges for Türkiye’s garment industry, including subdued overseas demand and increasing pressure on international apparel trade.
