Uttar Pradesh is preparing for the fifth Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC 5.0), with nearly 7,000 investment projects worth more than ₹7.55 lakh crore planned across all 75 districts. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed preparations and directed officials to speed up project approvals and implementation.
The state aims to ensure that investment proposals move forward without delays. Officials have been asked to complete land formalities, infrastructure work and other approvals within the set timelines.
Multiple Sectors to Attract Investment
According to Invest UP, the proposed projects cover a wide range of industries. Key sectors include data centres, energy, real estate, infrastructure, information technology, electronics, food processing, steel, cement, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, textiles, apparel, automobiles and tourism.
The projects include around 3,500 proposals handled through various government departments. More than 3,500 are linked to the Nivesh Sarathi portal at the district level. In addition, Invest UP is facilitating over 100 large projects.
Western Uttar Pradesh Leads Investment Plans
Western Uttar Pradesh accounts for around ₹4.75 lakh crore of the proposed investment. Eastern Uttar Pradesh follows with more than ₹1.2 lakh crore.
Central Uttar Pradesh is expected to attract over ₹80,000 crore, while Bundelkhand accounts for more than ₹60,000 crore.
The proposed GBC 5.0 initiative aims to turn investment commitments into projects on the ground. For the textile and apparel industry, these investments could support manufacturing growth, infrastructure development and new business opportunities across the state.
The successful implementation of these projects will depend on timely approvals, infrastructure readiness and coordination among government departments.
